Historical Pop-Up Books in Action

Pop-up books have a longer history than you might think. Here's a selection of historical examples from the Newberry Library collection spanning almost 600 years. The movable, interactive components in these books fall into four categories: dials, flaps, pop-ups, and tunnel books.
