Hello everyone! Today, we’re diving into one of Tokyo’s most iconic hotels, a property that’s been around for a while and still commands a premium price. Is it worth it? Let’s find out together! 🌍 Location – Busy but Well-Connected Nestled in the heart of Nishi-Shinjuku, this hotel’s location is a big plus. It’s connected to the Marunouchi Line and offers a free shuttle to Shinjuku Station, making it easy to explore Tokyo. However, the area—and the hotel itself—can feel quite busy, which is something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a serene retreat. 🏙️ Arrival & First Impressions We arrived by taxi and were greeted warmly by the staff. The lobby, though grand, was bustling with activity—a reflection of the hotel’s popularity. While it’s impressive, it doesn’t quite offer that calm, luxurious vibe you might expect at this price point. On the bright side, check-in was smooth, and the on-site bakery looked tempting (but it’s worth noting that prices here are as premium as the property itself). 🛏️ The Rooms – Comfortable with Some Variability Over our stay, we experienced three room types. The Twin Junior Executive Suite was spacious, with a great bathroom and thoughtful touches like yukatas and a coffee machine. The King Rooms were adequate and the second one which was actually on a higher floor seemed to be unrenovated or although cozy, showed some signs of age in its design—wooden panels and older fixtures didn’t quite match the expectations set by the suite. That said, every room had incredible views of Tokyo, which definitely added to the overall experience. If you’re booking, it’s worth checking which rooms have been updated. 🍴 Dining & Executive Lounge – A Solid Offering Breakfast was extensive, featuring a mix of Japanese and Western options, including live cooking stations for eggs and noodles. The quality was great, though it could get crowded during peak hours. The Executive Lounge offered a more peaceful atmosphere for breakfast, evening canapés, and drinks. It’s a fantastic perk if you have access, with enough variety to make it a convenient dining option. 🏊 Facilities – Great Amenities You May or May Not Use The gym and pool were well-maintained and offered stunning views. Even though I didn’t take advantage of them, it’s nice to know they’re there for those who want to stay active. The attention to detail here, like providing ice-cold towels, shows the hotel’s commitment to quality. 💡 Final Thoughts – An Icon with Its Charms This hotel is a Tokyo classic, offering fantastic service, a prime location, and some wonderful perks if you’re a Hilton Diamond member or using points. While it’s not the newest or most serene property in town, it delivers a solid experience overall. Would I recommend it? Yes, especially if you’re leveraging loyalty points or value its location and amenities. But if you’re paying out of pocket, you might want to weigh whether the price matches your expectations.
