The story behind the song is one person asking the other to die with them, also known as a double suicide. The main character thinks it's a joke, at first and doesnt take the other person seriously, who later dies writting a note. As the years move on the main character is reflecting on the past, retracing all the steps, expressing how they are "Stuck" and unable to move on, feeling a huge sense of regret alongside grief.
