A Historic First for Ohio Veterans 🇺🇸 Lorain County Veterans Service Commission (LCVSC) has officially partnered with the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) in a groundbreaking initiative — marking the first partnership of its kind in Ohio and the first county-level partnership NVLSP has ever established. For decades, NVLSP has partnered with 37 states and multiple national and regional Veteran Service Organizations, delivering high-level veterans law training across the country. Until now, those partnerships have been primarily at the state level. Lorain County changed that. Through this collaboration, NVLSP delivered a comprehensive 32-hour Basic to Advanced Veterans Law Training program — covering the full spectrum of claims development, appeals strategy, legal updates, and practical application to better serve veterans and their families. This nationally recognized training has been delivered to numerous state agencies throughout the U.S., and Lorain County invested in bringing that expertise directly to the local level. This partnership represents: • Elevated claims expertise at the county level • Stronger advocacy for Ohio veterans • A model that other counties can follow • A commitment to raising the standard of service And this is just the beginning.
