If you thought the early enemies were tough, Mezuki is here to make sure you’ve actually learned the mechanics. This fight happens during the mission The Village of Cursed Blossoms, and it wastes no time throwing you into chaos. Mezuki’s enormous blade gives him insane reach, his charge attacks cover massive distance, and his Yokai Realm phase can completely destroy your rhythm if you’re not managing Ki properly. This battle forces you to understand: • Ki management and recovery timing • Burst Counter windows and enemy tells • Dodging vs blocking decisions • When to punish and when to disengage • How Yokai Realm shifts change tempo Mezuki hits incredibly hard, especially for an early-game boss. One greedy combo can end your run instantly. Throughout this fight we adapt our strategy, bait out his heavy swings, and look for safe openings after his overhead slams and spinning attacks. Timing is everything here. If you’re struggling with Mezuki yourself, pay attention to: His red aura Burst Attack windups The recovery window after his charge When to activate Yokai abilities Positioning during the Yokai Realm phase This fight sets the tone for the rest of Nioh 2.
