Today we're investigating the efficiency of the AMD Ryzen 5 7500F. After building a compact system with this CPU and the RX 9060 XT, I wanted to see if we could slash power consumption without destroying real-world gaming performance. Given the high electricity costs in the UK, finding the "sweet spot" of efficiency is more important than ever. In this video, we'll tweak the BIOS Power Boost Overdrive settings to limit the CPU's Package Power Tracking (PPT) to 88W, 75W, 60W, 45W, and even 30W. and see how that affects raw CPU power in Cinebench 2024 and gaming performance across a variety of titles including Counter-Strike 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Black Myth Wukong. We'll see if we can figure out why dropping to a 60W limit only resulted in a 4% performance drop in Cinebench while running 10 degrees cooler, and see why the GPU bottleneck at 4K Ultra or 1440p High settings often makes CPU power limits irrelevant. Analysing high-framerate performance at 1080p Low settings should tell us where the CPU finally hits its limits. Is the Ryzen 7500F the efficiency king for budget enthusiasts? The results might make you rethink whether you actually need that high-end chip for your next build. #Ryzen57500F #AM5 #PCPowerEfficiency #GamingPC #PCOptimization #AMD #Undervolting #TechExperiment #BudgetGaming #EskComputers
