How many doors of mercy were opened, then closed forever because of delay. The Qur’an and the Seerah are filled with people who were saved because they hurried to Allah, and others who were destroyed because they kept postponing repentance. Ramadan is not only about fasting. Ramadan is about returning to Allah — and return requires urgency. Allah did not only command obedience, He commanded speed: “Race toward forgiveness from your Lord.” “Hasten to good deeds.” “Compete in righteousness.” The Prophet ﷺ warned us to hurry before trials, distractions, illness, and death darken the heart. Because repentance delayed is repentance at risk. Look at the magicians of Pharaoh. Disbelievers in the morning. When truth became clear, they did not wait. They fell into sujood immediately and declared faith — and Allah honored them with martyrdom in a single day. Salvation came through immediate response, not long planning. Why does Islam emphasize urgency before Ramadan? Because the heart may change. Because the opportunity may not return. Because tomorrow is not guaranteed. The man who killed one hundred souls did not say, “I’ll repent later.” When sincerity entered his heart, he moved immediately toward Allah. Death met him on the road — and Allah forgave him. The reward was for movement, not arrival. Shayṭān delays. Adam عليه السلام hurried back. One postponed and was cursed. One returned immediately and was forgiven. Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was never slow to goodness. No door of khayr opened except that he rushed through it — not because of strength, but because of a heart that feared delay. As Ramadan approaches, ask yourself: If not now — when? If not this Ramadan — which one? Do not say: “When I finish.” Do not say: “When I’m ready.” Do not say: “After Ramadan.” Ramadan is preparation for the Hereafter. Rest is in Jannah. The door is open today — and it may close tomorrow. Hurry to Allah before it’s too late. 🔔 Turn on notifications so you don’t miss future Ramadan reminders and Islamic lectures. 📖 *Explore more guidance, services, and resources* • Books, Ruqyah, Marriage Counselling, and 1-to-1 sessions 👉 https://samih-jad-shop.fourthwall.com 🤲 Share this Islamic reminder with someone who may need it today — spreading khayr is a form of sadaqah.
