This video covers the results of the trades that I did over the course of week 79 in this challenge. Specifically, I explain the main developments that occurred during the week and how I keep track of the trades results over time. It was yet another extremely volatile week marked by economic data that showed a significant deterioration of consumer confidence and a spike in producer prices, which may end up being reflected in consumer prices and further delay future interest rate cuts. Corporate earnings, and especially from the Magnificent 7 group continued to be released, and all of them (Apple, Meta, Microsoft and Tesla) beat analysts's expectations. However, a slower pace of growth by Microsoft's cloud computing segment was enough to cause a sell-off of the stock that dragged down the entire market along with it. It was yet another sign that valuations are stretched any slowdown in performance is relentlessly punished by investors. Even so, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's successor was announced and investors gave their thumbs-up by pushing up the value of the US dollar and bring down US treasuries yields, as they see Kevin Warsh as better able to protect the central bank from political interference. In the meantime, the possibility of a new Government shutdown remains until an agreement is reached between Democrats and Republicans in Congress. For now, we exhausted our buying power and so we will only be able to sell calls next week, as we were assigned 300 ARKK shares and were unable to sell our QQQ shares as a result of Thursday and Friday's sell-off.
