Taking the floor before nearly 15,000 hostile fans to face off against a roster full of future NBA players, Boston University gave fourth-ranked Arizona everything it could handle before falling 85-71 in the 2002 Fiesta Bowl Classic Championship in a game far closer than the final score. Fresh off dismantling BCS school Florida State 84-69 in the Semifinals, the BU found itself staring down a half-dozen future NBA players -- Andre Iguodala, Channing Frye, Luke Walton, Hassan Adams, Salim Stoudamire and Will Bynum -- in the Chip. Despite being drastically undersized at every position, the Terries played without fear and gave the host Wildcats everything they could handle for 40 minutes. Terrier senior captain Billy Collins scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Junior forward Jason Grochowalski scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting off the bench, and junior guard Matt Turner dropped 11. Sophomore forward Rashad Bell and junior center Ryan Butt each added eight, including a big two-handed dunk from Bell. Arizona was led by 17 points from Adams, the tournament MVP, 16 from Walton, and 12 from Stoudamire, who each earned All-Tournament honors.
