Taming Fire 3D Mockup

This is a cover animation I did using one of J.L. Weil's Dragon Descendants series. It uses a combination of VFX stock videos for things like smoke/steam and ember hits, as well as lens flares and heat shimmer from plugins by Red Giant and VideoCopilot. I peeled the dragon into a number of layers to add glows in specific ways and have lens flares behind some parts and in front of others to make as realistic back lit glows through the wings and fire being breathed as possible. Smoke/clouds/steam, all volumetrics really were something I was always trying to crack, this was probably the biggest driver of all that led me to Blender. Learning how to create realistic, natural looking, but looped cloudscapes. Still working on that one XD Check out J.L.
