This 4k octopus video shows you how an octopus mate and fall in love. The pairing could be go wrong for the octopus and can end in death but after this octopus mating everything was fine. One of the octopus arms (male) is a special sex-arm which is used for mating with an other octopus (female). A male octopus will insert his hectocotylus into the female's octopus mantle cavity and deposit spermatophores (sperm packets). This process may take up to several hours, depending on the species. The male octopus dies soon after mating, but the female octopus has to live on to lay the eggs, which aren't ready immediately. Death comes because the octopus has used up all of his body's energy in growing, then in mating. The number of eggs an octopus can produce & lay, varies by species.
