Like Goal: 15 Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Playthrough | Part 1: A Journey Begins Anew Difficulty: Dragon (Medium) NOTE: For this and the next part, the ending thumbnail is from Dragon Quest VI, and I forgot to change the cover. Part 3 onward will use the correct cover. Last year, I did a playthrough of Dragon Quest III. That “version” is based off the mobile port that was released a few years back. It's not bad but it could have been better. However, Square-Enix made the announcement that the original Erdrick trilogy is going to be getting the HD-2D treatment. This is the first and I am hyped, even though my viewership may say otherwise. This is Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. This game is an HD-2D remake of the original Dragon Quest III, released on February 10, 1988. I won't go into all the details this time as my previous play through of DQ3 did that. Instead, I'm just going to focus all in on the game itself. Like before, Dragon Quest III begins with you choosing a name for your hero as well as a gender. Oh wait, gender? No. Appearance. Screw that. You name the hero then choose between a Male or Female. Also, you can choose your difficulty and I'm doing it on Dragon Quest mode. Afterwards you get a personality test where what you say determines the challenge and completing it in a certain way determines your hero's personality. Like I've done before, my Hero is of the Paragon personality. Next our hero Arus wakes up on his 16th birthday. After getting dressed, he heads for Aliahan Castle to meet with the king. He's given the blessing to head off on a journey to stop the fiend Baramos from taking over the world. However he is advised to go to Patty's Party Planning Place (Luida's bar) to recruit allies to join him on his journey. We head there. There are some premade members, but we'll be making our own. At the second floor, we speak to someone who will help with the recruitment. You assign a name & gender before selecting their class. Afterwards, you then assign each party member five stat-boosting seeds. What you pick determines their personality. In terms of classes, they consist of these. Warrior | Offensive with high HP, attack and defense but have poor speed & can be a hit on your wallet in terms of equipment. Martial Artist | Have great attack and agility and can deal critical hits. But they level slow and have limited choices for armor. Mage | High wisdom but are very frail physically. They have access to offensive magic and various support spells. Priest | Have good strength, agility & vitality and can equip some blade weapons. Have access to healing & debilitating spells. Merchant | Average stats, can level up fast, find extra money after fights and can equip almost anything. Has some exclusive abilities like Dig & Service Call. Gadabout | Useless in battle but can gain a lot of luck on level up. They have Whistle which can summon enemies. Can change into a Sage at Level 20 or higher. Thief | Average attack but high agility. Can steal items and has abilities such as Eye for Distance, Padfoot and Nose for Treasure. Monster Wrangler | New class for this game. Can mimic monster abilities and is needed to recruit Beasties for the Monster Arena. Sage | Has high HP & durability. Can access to all of Mage & Priest spells. Can only be obtained if a Gadabout is at Level 20 or if an ally is holding onto a Words of Wisdom. That's pretty much the gist of Part 1 as I spend the rest of this part finding items & mini medals. See you in Part 2 for when the journey truly starts. #gaming #dq3hd2dremake #dragonquest3hd2d * * * * * * * * * Want to Support the Channel! You can do so at the following!
