..so bulb in my Epson projector finally gave out after 1238 hrs. This is well below Epson's claim of 4000 hrs. I've used this projector in eco mode hoping that I might prolong life of the bulb but 1238 hrs. was all I got. For me this translates into apron. 2 years of use which is not bad but I was hoping for longer bulb life. I purchased original replacement from b&h for 250 with free shipping. Lowest price I could find for original. Projector people lists at 269 and Epson 299. I forgot how beautiful picture is coming from this projector. Bulb slowly looses its brightness so you may not notice that quality of the picture is getting worse. Last 20 hrs. of bulb life I noticed significant loss in brightness. I tried to switch to dynamic mode and turned off eco mode but with no result. At that point I knew that bulb was gone.
