Stockton mother speaks after daughter killed at Anderson Park

Stockton police are investigating a deadly shooting at Anderson Park that claimed the life of 19-year-old Samantha Rose Camacho on Thursday night. Camacho’s mother, Debra Garcia, said her daughter had recently graduated high school and was preparing to join the Navy. She described her as the “life of the party” with a bright future ahead. Police have not identified a suspect or motive. The shooting is the second fatal case at Anderson Park in 2025, following the killing of 17-year-old Julian Martinez in February. City Councilmember Michael Blower called for more police patrols at the park, while family members are raising funds for funeral expenses and planning a vigil.
