A subscriber asked if I'd done the President Johnson II. I hadn't, so bought one in. It turns out there are four versions & this is the Johnson II ASQ 12/24V, which neatly has a totally different layout to that shown in my service manual. It does at least have internal adjustments & some are labelled helping mw in my quest to optimise. Coming in at 3W & 1.6khz deviation, it's now doing a full 4W with 2.2-2.5Kkz deviation. Squelch has also been optimised for 100uV max.Though no adjustable, the S meter is spot on with reading 100uV for S9. Voltage tracking is good & the radio delivers a full 4W from input voltages 13.2V to 24V. At 11.8V, the radio still managed 3.5W. I'm actually quite impressed with this one & it's definitely made by Uniden too, Monetisation is switch on for this video with it being a new set which I've had to buy.
