A Day In Life Of Interventional Radiologist | Dr. Gaurav Gangwani

There are many non surgical treatment options for problems like Varicocele, Varicose Veins, Breast Fibroadenomas, Thyroid Nodules and many more. Some are elaborated below, To know know more and guidance you can contact us on : +919082394787 Varicocele : Varicocele embolization is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat varicoceles, which are enlargements of the veins within the scrotum, similar to varicose veins in the legs. This condition can cause pain, swelling, and in some cases, infertility. During the procedure, an interventional radiologist makes a small incision, usually in the groin or neck, and inserts a thin tube called a catheter into a vein. Using imaging guidance, the catheter is navigated to the varicocele. A coil or a special embolic fluid is then released through the catheter to block the blood flow to the varicocele. This reroutes blood to healthier veins, relieving pressure and symptoms. Thyroid Nodule : Thyroid nodule ablation, particularly using techniques such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA) or percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI), is a minimally invasive procedure that is used to treat benign, non-cancerous thyroid nodules. This treatment can be an alternative to thyroid surgery or a way to avoid the need for long-term thyroid hormone replacement therapy. Varicose Veins : Minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins have become increasingly popular due to their effectiveness, reduced recovery times, and fewer complications compared to traditional surgical methods. These treatments are typically performed on an outpatient basis and involve less pain and discomfort. Here are some of the common minimally invasive procedures are Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT), Sclerotherapy, Cyanoacrylate Glue Closure Breast Fibroadenomas : Vacuum-assisted breast biopsy (VABB) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat breast fibroadenoma. In this process, a small cut is made in the skin, and a probe connected to a vacuum device is inserted into the breast. Under imaging guidance, usually using ultrasound or mammography, the probe is directed to the fibroadenoma. The vacuum gently pulls tissue from the fibroadenoma into the probe, where it is cut and removed. This method allows for the removal of larger tissue samples with fewer needle insertions, leading to more accurate diagnoses and effective treatment of fibroadenomas. The procedure typically results in minimal scarring and has a quick recovery time. -------------------------------- // Links:- Website: www.drgauravgangwani.com Gmail: [email protected] Instagram:   / drgauravgangwani   LinkedIn:   / dr-gaurav-gangwan   Facebook:   / drgauravgangwani   Twitter:   / drgauravgangwni   // Disclaimer: The video is for educational purpose so that the patients benefit from the information and can take better informed choices.
