This is my full build and honest review of Hoocho’s Rain Gutter Grow System, purchased from Hydroland here in Australia. It’s a completely passive, gravity-fed hydroponic setup that lets your plants water themselves. No pumps, no timers, no power required. This video is not sponsored. I bought everything myself and wanted to show exactly how easy it is to build and run one of these systems at home. I take you through the process from start to finish: cutting and sealing the gutter, installing the float valve, spacing the buckets, and getting the system running with a simple coco–perlite mix and A+B hydroponic nutrients. You’ll also see how my earlier builds are performing, what’s worked well, and a few lessons learned like managing algae and getting the system level. This design captures what I love about hydroponics it’s practical, efficient, and low-maintenance. Once it’s set up, gravity does all the work, keeping the water level constant and the plants perfectly hydrated. For anyone wanting to build a self-watering, wicking-style hydroponic system, this is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to start. Toward the end, I share how it compares to the AutoPot system, what it cost to build, and whether I’d recommend it after seeing the results so far.
