AVRIL, which stands for ‘Alta Velocidad Rueda Independiente Ligero’, is a family of highly versatile and very high-speed trains from the Spanish railway company Talgo, which have been sold to Renfe Viajeros (thus forming Renfe's 106 series or S-106) and to Le Train. The model built for Renfe (S-106) is an articulated, light, electric train, with short carriages and independent guided wheelsets, and stands out mainly for being the first train in the world with the capacity to run at more than 300 km/h on both Iberian and international gauge.
