Last edition, it was Hugo Boss and PRB, who suffered hull cracking as a result from coming off their foils and crashing down on their bow sections, causing cracking and in PRB's case, breaking up and sinking. Alex Thomson in Hugo Boss, had to add fiberglass reinforcing, before he could continue. Is this an inherant weakness in the Imoca design? In today's report Louis Burton has a grinder out and is working on placing fiberglass over the cracks in the hull, but is this enough? We show the results.
