We find 7 to 10 a day during the rainy season, at Vinhomes Golden River a building in Ho Chi Minh Vietnam that claims to be "luxury" but that's far from reality. When I got injured by this beetle I caught the next one and I actually took one around, taped down to a piece of paper and asked people, "Do you know what this is?" Believe it or not, 65% had never seen it. I warned them how poisonous this little beetle can be and not to touch it with bare hands ever like my girl did! It can leave a wound that hurts for 3 weeks! I had to take 1 topical ointment, 2 antibiotics, 1 steroid and pain medicine for 2 weeks! We found it on my chest and not knowing any better my girl took it off with her bare hands. I began to turn red and feel a burn moments later. Maybe that's why the Rover Beetle (it has many different names and several different versions by the way) didn't hurt her because all the poison was in me! haha! They have been known to make some villages relocate when they arrive in large infestations. They can be very dangerous for babies, toddlers or small children, as you could imagine.
