JLA: Act of God, Part 1 - Atop the Fourth Wall

It'll take a real act of God to wipe this one from my memory... Originally uploaded April 19th, 2010. RUMINATIONS: What's really irritating about these three-parter episodes is that I have a hard time finding enough material to talk to you guys about, especially when there isn't much left to say that isn't on display. JLA: Act of God is an awful little Elseworlds story with a good premise. In fact, in a bizarrely ironic turn, not too long after these episodes premiered, a similar premise was acted out in the pages of JSA. It was an alternate future kind of thing, but it was still much more enjoyable. We saw Superman losing his powers with a guy in mid-air. Did he panic? Did he start speaking poetically about how much it sucks to not have superpowers and how he was no longer a God or did he think "Oh, man, it's going to be great to be a drunk!" No. He remained calm, tried to talk to the guy with him about how to survive a fall from a great distance and was severely injured when he landed, since he's still falling from a great height. Paramedics soon arrived and nobody berated him about his failure to save them -- because it's friggin' SUPERMAN and you want to try to help him as soon as possible.
