MOTORCYCLIST CRITICAL AFTER HIGH SPEED CRASH OF WOODLANDS PARKWAY

Close to 5 pm Monday, 4 motorcycles were traveling at a high rate of speed east on Woodlands Parkway. The right lane was open, but traffic was stopped in the other lanes.  Three of the motorcycles passed the stopped vehicle at a high rate of speed. The fourth motorcycle tried to do the same but struck the rear of a pickup that was stopped for traffic. The crash ejected the male to the sidewalk. As the bike spun across lanes, an eastbound Jeep struck and drug the motorcycle a short distance but did not strike the motorcyclist. A nurse who witnessed the crash as it happened directly in front of her stopped. The male was talking at first, then stood up and dropped, and went unconscious. One of the motorcycles continued on, but the others returned to the scene. One of those that returned had been stopped before by the MCSO for reckless driving and not having a license plate. Tonight, again, no license plate, so the motorcycle was towed. MCSO had an earlier call on the bikes driving recklessly. All were teens. DPS worked the crash. The driver of the Jeep or the pickup was not injured. The driver of the motorcycle was transported in very critical condition to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands.
