Down the road, you'll find the historic Tokeland Hotel, and the nearby studio of artist Jeffro Uitto, a driftwood visionary. At the aptly named Washaway Beach, you may run into another local artist, Senja Antilla, at the end of an ever-shortening road that's being swallowed by the sea. Antilla is documenting the homes claimed by America's fastest eroding shoreline. She collects the fragments of washed-away homes to create colorful tributes to relentless loss and the power of the sea.
