2025 Skirmish Shield | European Classic Paintball League | Onemanmedia

It feels like it's been a REALLY long off-season and from the grins on players faces we're confident that there were plenty eager to come out of hibernation and get stuck into another season of classic paintball 😃 Skirmish Pro Training Centre was the venue for our season opener and provided two challenging and very different fields of play in their newly revised hyperball layout as well as a Sup'AirBall field featuring a gleaming Skirmish branded "car wash" bunker! Thanks to Stef, Wallace and all the Skirmish Sherwood Forest Activity Centre staff for looking after us so well. Games were intense with everyone wanting to get an early advantage in the 2025 Series Standings, but before we get into the team by team breakdown, the following deserve special mentions: Most Valuable Ref: Graham Ennis Amateur MVP: Taylor from Faction Pro MVP: Weeman from Sandbaggers Amateur Division. 3rd place: Faction (351 points) We've always been supportive of getting more youngsters playing the ECPL, so when we were approached by Matt Schmidt about helping to help get his new team Faction playing we jumped at the chance. Two old hands in Matt and Marshy accompanied by 8 under 18's really showed up and put the cat amongst the pigeons, posting three maxes, two draws and being the only Amateur team to go undefeated on the hyperball field all day 💪They finished 3rd at their first ever event and we are certain that you'll be reading a lot more about them as they gain experience and learn more about playing each and every time out. Runners Up: Mayhem Tigers Gold (508 points) Tigers Gold have had a recalibration over the off-season and it's great to see them back at the ECPL with smiles on their faces, enjoying their paintball once again. An opening game win against Corruption set the tone for their day, and despite dropping their next game to the Redskins, they bounced back posting four maxes from their remaining five games. Their match against Faction is one that everyone will remember finishing with four players alive for Faction against a solitary Tiger. Congrats to Boz and the team for getting back on track and starting this season strong. Champions: UK Redskins Paintball Team (580 points) An almost faultless performance by the Redskins in the morning session set them up for the chance to post 7 consecutive maxes on the day. Grizzlies denied them of that opportunity in their penultimate game on hyperball, but it wasn't enough to stop them powering their way to the top of the podium to be crowned the 2025 Skirmish Shield Amateur Champions 🏆 Redskins have always threatened to have a serious run at the series title and here's hoping that 2025 is the year that they get the bit between their teeth and go for it! Pro 3rd place: Mayhem Tigers Black Tigers Black showed their intent early in the prelims posting an impressive 6 maxes out of a potential 7, losing only to the Sandbaggers on the hyperball field. Each of their wins was convincing, never losing more than 5 bodies each time. Finals were challenging, losing to Rushers in their opening match, then beating the Expendables to set themselves up a final match against Sandbaggers which could have seen them take the event if they had won it convincingly the Expendables had beaten Rushers. This however wasn't to be and a solid 3rd place finish sets them off on their quest for Season honours. Runners Up: Rushers 5 convincing wins out of 7 prelim games saw Rushers coast into the Pro finals, safe in the knowledge that points reset and the next three matches would determine their fate. A strong win against Tigers for the loss of only three bodies set them up to challenge for top honours. Losing their second finals match to Sandbaggers meant that they had to beat Expendables convincingly to give themselves the best chance, which they did, but it was only enough to secure the runners up spot on this occasion. Champions: Operation Sandbaggers Sandbaggers come into this season as the reigning 2024 Pro Series Champions and it's no surprise that they approach each and every match with a clocklike precision and competitiveness. Posting the only perfect 100 of the event in their game against Turks is testament to the depth of talent within their roster and they only slipped up once to an elated Expendables team who capitalised on every opportunity. Finals saw the Baggers step up a gear to go undefeated in their three finals game taking the top spot in the Pro division and a case of Three Stooges Brewery's finest in the process. Congratulations 👏
