NORSEMEN (VIKINGANE) Season 4 Cancelled: Netflix & NRK1 End Vikings Parody After 3 Seasons

Hey, guys! Unfortunately, we have disappointing news for the fans of the Norwegian comedy series Norsemen (or Vikingane, as it’s titled in its native Norway). The Norwegian NRK1 channel announced that the show was cancelled after three seasons – there will be no Season 4 for Norsemen. Subsequently, Netflix did not pick up Season 4 of Norsemen for an exclusive production either. Even after the cancellation by NRK, Netflix COULD technically produce Season 4 independently, and here is why. In a rare twist, all episodes of the first three seasons of Norsemen were filmed in both Norwegian and English at the same time, meaning EACH scene was filmed twice – once in each of the two languages. The cancellation was not expected at all, since the show has received great feedback from audiences around the globe, rating it at impressive 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, and from critics who graced it with 2 award wins and 5 nominations. Norsemen became a third joint project for Netflix and NRK, following Lilyhammer in 2012 and Nobel in 2016.
