Saint Colette of Corbie was one of the most powerful Catholic reformers of the late Middle Ages. Born in 1381 in Corbie, France, she became a Franciscan nun who restored the original radical poverty of the Poor Clares, founding 18 monasteries across Europe and reviving the spiritual legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare. After the death of her parents, Colette sought a deeper religious life, eventually becoming a hermit and receiving visions calling her to reform monastic life. With support from the Franciscan preacher Henry de Beaume and authorization from Pope Benedict XIII, she began a movement that reshaped the Franciscan world. Her reform required extreme poverty, barefoot living, fasting, and strict enclosure, returning the Poor Clares to their original ideals. Saint Colette was also known for miracles. Tradition credits her with healing the sick, saving a woman in childbirth, and reviving a stillborn child, which helped convince skeptical townspeople of the holiness of her reform. She died on 6 March 1447 in Ghent, leaving behind a reform movement that continues in monasteries around the world. Saint Colette was beatified in 1740 by Pope Clement XII and canonized in 1807 by Pope Pius VII. Today she is venerated as the patron saint of women seeking to conceive, expectant mothers, and sick children. This video explores her life, miracles, and the powerful reform movement she began in medieval Europe. #SaintOfTheDay #Catholic #CatholicSaints #ChurchHistory #ChristianHistory #SaintColette #MedievalHistory #CatholicFaith #TraditionalCatholic #ChristianHeritage #WesternCivilization #BasedChristian #SaintOfTheDay #CatholicSaints #ChurchHistory #ChristianHistory #TraditionalCatholic #BasedCatholic #WesternCivilization #CatholicFaith #MedievalSaints #ChristianCulture #SaintColette
