Husqvarna 435X, 435iQ, & 535AWD Automower Pivoting Arm Removal: How To Properly Remove & Install It

In this video we show you the proper way to remove the pivoting arm that connects the back chassis to the front chassis of a Husqvarna Automower 435X, 435iQ, & 535AWD model. This is the part that allows the 435X, 435iQ, and 535 AWD Automowers to articulate. This arm needs to be removed in order to open the rear chassis of the 435X, 435iQ, and 535AWD mowers to make repairs to any of the boards, motors, or other components housed inside of the rear chassis. The fact that is has just one bolt running through the center of it makes it seem like removing this arm would be a very simple procedure, and it is simple when they are new new and clean and haven't been out in the elements. This area of the mower can get built up with grass clippings and other debris that will cause the shoulder bolt going through the pivoting arm to rust and be tough to remove. This is one more operation where we have to stress DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS because you can cause some expensive and time consuming damage in a hurry if you do. As you can see in this video the best option is a 3/8" drive ratchet, a socket with a 4mm hex key, and some penetrating oil. It's important to not get rammy and in a hurry when trying to remove these parts. Instead work the bolt out a little at a time and keep it lubricated with penetrating oil so that it cleans out some of the rust on its way out while causing as little damage or wear as possible.
