The Laphroaig Lore is 48% Non Age Statement Laphroaig from a vatting of Quarter casks, European oak, bourbon, and sherry casks. The rumors say its made up of whisky between 7 and 21 years of age, but, of course, that's not official, and we have o information of the ratio of the younger to older whisky in this vatting. Nevertheless this NAS Laphroaig comes with a price tag of between $130 and $150 in the US. It's not chill-filtered, but probably has fake color added. Can a whisky with this presentation justify this price? To put this one to the test, I taste, rate and review it, but not before I compare it head to head with the Quarter Cask, another 48% NAS Laphroaig... that costs half what the Lore costs.
