https://forevergreenindoors.com https://forevergreenindoors.com/produ... https://forevergreenindoors.com We’re using the Teros 12 to crop steer cherry tomatoes in our Seattle test garden. Basic crop steering with the SOLUS allows us to take readings of the water content in our coco/rockwool to understand when to set watering schedules. Our target minimum moisture level is 18% before we add more water. We then measure how long it takes to reach 50% moisture content. Our automatic drip system is then programmed to provide the exact amount of water we need to hit those targets. We also measure the EC or electrical conductivity level at those same readings. Our target for the tomatoes is 1.75-2.5 during the flower/fruiting stage. And we measure that EC level when we hit the minimum moisture content target. If we fall below that target number we increase the feeding schedule, which is also automated. If we come in too high we use fresh water only to wash away the excess nutrients so we don't lock out the plants ability to uptake water and feed with too many salts and nutrients in the soil. As the plants mature they take in more water and feed so the steering cycle repeats itself every few days to make sure we are on-target. We're pushing the limits on withholding water which the plant interprets as drought. This triggers a competitive response in the plants to build more roots and stronger stalks with larger fruit. We don't want to push too far, and we don't want to keep the plants constantly wet. Over watered plants don't compete as hard to survive, and wet conditions allow for rotting in the root zones and other pests. We're also pushing the limits on nutrients and using the soil EC sensor we know when we have hit the maximum feed level. Providing just the right amount of fertilizer at just the right time allows the plants to uptake what they can tolerate to build stronger roots, stalks and fruit. The AROYA SOLUS Teros 12 gives us the hard data we need to make adjustments. We don't log that data as it changes every few days anyway. We just use it as a spot meter to dial in the perfect schedules for water and feed then we stand back and watch the results. #aroya #aroyasolus #solus #soilmoisturemeter #soilmoisturesensor #cropsteering #howtousethesolus #ecmeter #ecsensor #teros12 #terossensor
