Recorded between 1974 and 1979, these eleven tracks capture a pivotal moment in European space rock history, revealing a band that stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the cosmic pioneers of their era. FAT OLD SUN emerged from Rotterdam's vibrant underground music scene in the early seventies, creating a unique sonic tapestry that blended the experimental atmospherics of Pink Floyd, the whimsical cosmic jazz of Gong. For five years, the quartet recorded prolifically in various studios and rehearsal spaces across Rotterdam, yet their music remained locked away in private archives—until now.
