Of Whom The World Was Not Worthy - Hebrews 11:38 What kind of men and women were these people that the writer of Hebrews declared, "Of Whom The World Was Not Worthy"? They were: 1. Men that had great faith. The whole chapter is a declaration of men and women who had faith. These all, by their faith, saw the Lord do great things. Each one did great things. Noah builds an ark; Abraham springs a nation; Joseph sustains life; Moses leads a nation out of Egypt; Joshua leads a nation into the promised land, watching the Lord destroy the enemy. 2. Men that believed the word of God God's word was enough for each of these men and women. They did not have a Bible like you and I have. Some had no Bible at all; others just small portions; none had a personal copy of the word of God. Yet, they believed God's word and His word was enough for them to act upon. 3. Men of Prayer There is Enoch walking with God, talking with God, taken by God There is Noah praying and finding grace in they eyes of God There is Abraham on a hillside praying to God There is Jacob wrestling with God There is Moses on the mountain with God There is the mother of the dead boy praying outside that door that Elijah was praying in Prayer meetings were the mark of the early churches--they prayed together. 4. Men who lived in light of eternity 5. Men who stood for the family 6. Men who were pilgrims upon the earth 7. Men who were persecuted for what they believed Thank you for joining us!
