Don't worry this are a spare set of heads that were previously damaged and repaired. The theory behind the madness is that dimples inside the combustion chamber will result in more air movement which might improve fuel atomization and flame propagation. As the intake valve is opening the dimples will create a turbulence yielding a better fuel air mix, and a more efficient, even burn in the combustion chamber. These could yield better throttle response, low and mid end torque improvement. Another potential benefit is if the dimples help with heat distribution which could help with pre-ignition and allow for more ignition timing. The ideal engine for this would be a low to mild build since this would not be beneficial at high rpm the guess is engines capable of no more than 5500 RPM. The down side of this could be during the compression stroke when the piston compresses the mixture due to the removal of material decreasing the compression ration of the engine (not sure how much). If the theory actually works this would be awesome for a daily driver that could benefit from low to mid end torque. We just decided to test it on our wanna be race engine, so join us as we blow up our engine.
