On Monday October 3rd, 2022, around 10:04 AM, Officers from Boston's B-2 District were on patrol after a shots fired call in the area of Blue Hill avenue. They observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop in the area of 69 Glenway Street. This stop led to the arrest of a wanted fugitive, Tremayne Butler, 32, of Dorchester on multiple felony warrants, as well as firearms related charges. Upon searching Mr. Butler, officers recovered a 9-millimeter Smith and Wesson handgun loaded with 15 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber. It was also determined through a Criminal Justice Information Services search that Mr. Butler had outstanding warrants out of Maryland. These warrants included Attempted 1st degree murder, attempted 2nd degree murder, Assault 1st degree, Use of a firearm during a felony, Assault 2nd degree, Reckless endangerment, handgun on a person and a loaded handgun on a person. In addition to the multiple warrants, Mr. Butler was arraigned in Dorchester District court on the following charges: Unlawful possession of a firearm, Unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, Unlawful possession of ammunition, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and being a fugitive from justice. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
