Sweet Marias Popper Review

Today's video is about Sweet Marias Popper Review. Home coffee roasters have a reason to celebrate today. The new "Popper" sold through Sweet Maria's is an affordable hot air roaster that offers variable air and temperature control. My Sweet Marias Popper Review & Roast looks at the features and benefits of the "Popper" along with some of it's quirks and challenges. There is always a learning curve when using a "new" roaster. As you will see in this video, my biggest challenge was the timer/clock which created confusion for me when I was trying to figure out my roast phase times. More on that below. Other than that this roaster is straight forward and I am looking forward to stretching it's capabilities and roast some great coffee. This video will be the first in a series for the Sweet Marias Popper Review as we learn how to roast coffee with this new device. At this point, with only one roast on the "Popper", I can say that it is possible to control your roast with the Popper. So, the timer is a great feature and now that I experienced it's strengths and weaknesses, I will use it to keep my roast from going into the cool mode BUT I will use a separate clock to determine my roast phase times. I use phone stop watch timer that counts up but the one on the Popper counts down. So when I am trying to calculate times using the Popper timer, I get confused. That isn't Sweet Maria's problem, but something I will need to get use to. Sweet Maria's says "Popper is a home coffee roaster, an electric air machine that can roast 100 grams of coffee in 7 minutes." and that is a true statement. As a matter of fact, it can roast a lot faster than that. We don't really want to roast coffee super fast but it is good to know that this roaster is not under-powered. Check out my video!
