Player: Clouder Date: 25/02/2026 Category: Easy Run Level: All of Quake Time: 11:27.19378 A 1 second improvement over the previous record by Muty. Greetings, folks! Brace yourselves — this might turn into a bit of an essay. Where do I even begin? A few months ago, I started dabbling in some Quake ER RTA attempts. Over time, I came to a realization: Muty’s record wasn’t as untouchable as I once believed. And that’s when the hunt for time save truly began. Right off the bat, I accepted that I had virtually no chance of squeezing meaningful time out of Episode 4. So instead, I shifted my focus to the episodes where I perform best — Episodes 2 and 3. When I began pushing for world record attempts, I was targeting specific levels for tangible gains. In Episode 2, that meant maps like E2M2, E2M4, and E2M5. Episode 3, on the other hand, became a matter of consistency. I wasn’t finding massive time saves there, but I was shaving off small amounts across nearly every level — and that adds up. Of course, there were other occasional opportunities. E1M3 can yield time, though it’s always a gamble due to the infamous zombie RNG. That said, with the modern strat, it’s at least a bit more reliable. E1M4 also has its moments. Still, Episodes 2 and 3 were the real pillars of hope throughout this grind. After two or three months of sporadic streams, a few hiatuses, and even a brief detour into “Quake Brutalist Jam” midway through the grind, I finally managed to pull this run together. It’s far from perfect. There were mistakes — some execution-based, others pure bad RNG, like that unfortunate Death Knight situation on E2M3. But overall, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t proud of this. It’s only a one-second world record — but a world record is a world record. For now, I’m satisfied. …Until Muty comes back and absolutely demolishes it. All that said, I hope you enjoy the run as much as I do. GGs, and have a great rest of your day.
