As Lent approaches, Fr Myles introduces this holy season at St Clement’s Church, Leigh-on-Sea: a time of prayer, penitence, and self-discipline, beginning on Ash Wednesday as we remember that we are dust—and to dust we shall return. Following Jesus’s forty days in the wilderness, Lent trains us to turn from sin, cultivate virtue, and be shaped into people fit for the Resurrection life we celebrate at Easter.
