The zebrafish has become a very popular and rapidly growing model in many scientific research fields. In the neurosciences, social behavior and shoaling has become a key topic for evaluating and testing pharmaceutical compounds. To quantify the cohesion/convergence of a group is very difficult but it is fundamentally important to understanding the neurophysiological and behavioral genetic processes. This webinar aims to discuss new solutions and applications to shed some light on group behavior of zebrafish in the laboratory setting. In this exclusive webinar sponsored by MDE Ltd., Róbert Kovács presents new applications for measuring zebrafish social cohesion. Discussion focuses on how these techniques can answer questions about zebrafish social behavior. Mr. Kovács reviews methodology and measurement techniques while highlighting the benefits of the MDE zebrafish behavioral monitoring system. In this exclusive webinar sponsored by MDE Ltd., our expert will present new applications for measuring zebrafish social cohesion. Discussion will focus on how these techniques can answer questions about zebrafish social behavior. Our presenter will review methodology and measurement techniques while highlighting the benefits of the MDE zebrafish behavioral monitoring system. Key Topics: Equipment required to examine group cohesion (social interaction) Technical consideration and tips for optimizing data collection and analysis Interesting findings based on preliminary data collection with MDE Ltd. PsychoFish system About Our Presenter: Róbert Kovács Research Associate, Szent István University, Department of Aquaculture Gödöllő, Hungary Róbert Kovács is the zebrafish facility manager in the Department of Aquaculture at Szent István University. His main areas of research focus on behavioral and cardiovascular effects of xenobiotics on fish species. Róbert has developed many zebrafish embryo and larvae behavior assays for the study of sublethal effects of chemicals and is an expert in chronic and multi generation toxicity tests.
