Un omaggio video alla prima donna rugbista, Emily Valentine, nel quale l'artista John Cascone, insieme al curatore dei movimenti scenici Andrea Pangallo, ha coinvolto i giovani atleti di squadre di rugby nel trasformare i movimenti tecnici dello sport in una danza metamorfica. Il video è l'opera d'arte finale del progetto FRIDAS - Freedom in Rights Identities Driven through Art and Sport, che esplora l'incontro tra arte e sport per promuovere inclusione e parità di genere. Quest'opera è il risultato di un lungo processo che ha unito giovani rugbisti italiani e croati. Cascone ha realizzato nel corso di un anno diversi workshop, insieme ai quali sono state avviate diverse attività che hanno trasformato i movimenti tecnici e rigorosi “da campo”, in una danza poliforme in cui le individualità di ognuno sono distinte ma al contempo uguali. Il progetto realizzato da Latitudo Art Projects con U.S. Primavera Rugby e Ragbi Klub Nada e il supporto dell'Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, CONI e FIR ha portato il rugby a mutarsi in linguaggio artistico. *** A video tribute to the first female rugby player, Emily Valentine, in which the artist John Cascone, together with the curator of stage movements Andrea Pangallo, involved young athletes from rugby teams in transforming the technical movements of the sport into a metamorphic dance. The video is the final artwork of the FRIDAS project - Freedom in Rights Identities Driven through Art and Sport, which explores the intersection between art and sport to promote inclusion and gender equality. This work is the result of a long process that united young Italian and Croatian rugby players. Over the course of a year, Cascone held several workshops, together with which various activities were launched that transformed the technical and rigorous "field" movements into a multifaceted dance in which everyone's individualities are distinct but at the same time equal. The project created by Latitudo Art Projects with U.S. Primavera Rugby and Ragbi Klub Nada and the support of the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, CONI and FIR has led rugby to transform into an artistic language.
