Hurricane Milton Continues Its Path To Threaten Jacksonville

City stakeholders continue to discuss the potential impacts of Hurricane Milton as it approaches Florida's Gulf Coast. JSO's Director of Patrol, Joe Cowen, joined Mayor Donna Deegan and other local officials to offer information and guidance to our community. The NWS - Jax continues to forecast our area receiving the leading bands of Milton in the evening hours tonight. Once it arrives, the impacts should last for approximately 24 hours. At it's peak, our area should expect hurricane force winds, substantial rains and thunder storms, and flooding in low lying areas. Citizens should be prepared at their residence by now and be prepared to Hunker Down. Yards should be free from debris that may become projectiles during high winds. Secure pets and check on neighbors if possible. As the storm continues its approach towards Florida, we will push information as is it becomes available.
