Join me for a walk around the centre of Fort William, Scotland's 'wettest' town nestled on the country's rugged west coast at the foot of the mighty Ben Nevis, Britain's tallest mountain. From its origins as Maryburgh, which grew up around a 17th-century fort, to its role as a hub for adventure tourism, Fort William is full of riveting history and spectacular scenery (even in the rain!) On our walk around Fort William, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including the Old Fort, Loch Linnhe, the start/end marker of the Great Glen Way, Fort William Station, Duncansburgh Parish Church, Cow Hill, Hiroshima Peace Bell, St. Andrew's Church, High Street, the Imperial Hotel, Cameron Square, the Highland Cinema, the West Highland Museum, Henry Alexander's Model-T Ford and the MacIntosh Memorial Church.
