Talniche means fried. In Ganapati festival we make different modak for Naivedya. So, you must be looking for different modak recipes. Here I am to help you out with this recipe. These are deep fried modak with sweet coconut stuffing and crispy outside covering. They look tempting and taste just awesome. Try this recipe at home and write to me. Ingredients: • 1/2 cup fine Rava • 1 1/2 cup Maida • 1/4 tsp Salt • 3 tsp hot Ghee • Warm Water as needed • 125 gm Khava / Mawa • 10~12 chopped Cashew nuts • 10~12 Almonds • Cardamom powder • 1 tsp Ghee • 1 tsp Poppy seeds • 1 1/2 cup grated fresh Coconut • 150 gm Sugar • Oil for frying Method: • Mix rava, maida and salt well together and add ghee. • Mix well with spoon first and then rub ghee to the maida mixture really good until it turns crumbly. • Add a little warm water a t time and knead semi stiff dough. • Cover and rest the dough for about 15 minutes. • Heat up a pan on medium heat and add khava. • Roast the khava well until nice aroma is release and transfer it into a dish. • Heat up ghee in the same pan and add poppy seeds, cashew nuts and almonds. • Roast it well together until it begins to turn light golden and add fresh coconut and fry it well together on low heat for about 4-5 minutes. • Add sugar and roasted khava and mix well. • Roast it well for about 5-6 minutes. • When the mixture begins to come together, turn off the gas and add cardamom powder. • Mix well and stuffing is ready. • Knead the dough really good once more and take out a small portion from it. • Make it smooth and even and roll out thin pari from it. • Pinch the pari to make kalya and fill in the stuffing. • Spread a little water along the edge of the pari and bring the kalya together. • Seal the modak really good and remove the excess dough. Modak is ready to fry. • Heat up oil on high heat in a pan and when oil Is hot enough, reduce the heat to low. • Drop modak into hot oil and fry well on low heat until they get light golden color from all sides. • When modak are fried well, take them out, drain excess oil and transfer them on a wire rack. Talniche modak are ready. • You can make 30 modak from the proportion we used. • When these modak cool down completely, store them in an airtight container. • They have shelf life of about 10 days at room temperature and in freeze for about a month.
