A new Chargeplace Scotland electric vehicle charging station has opened near the Doune Hillclimb site. The site is so new that the charger status is not showing on Chargeplace Scotland's charging App. Just in case the chargers were not working, I packed my Champion 2200 Mighty Atom petrol inverter charger in the car! The first charger I tried would not connect. Luckily the second charger worked fine. I charged for just over 2 hours to get back to the full 46 mile range (3.150kWh charge added). Price for the charge was £2.00 (minimum charge cost for Stirling District owned chargers). On the outward journey of 25 miles, the Ami used 26 miles of range - which is better than I normally get. On the return journey of 26 miles I used 31 miles of range. I think that the difference is due to the profiles of the terrain being different. The Ami gets minimal regenerative braking. Anyway, the Doune Hillclimb event had excellent weather on the Saturday which was the practice day. However, on Sunday the event was very wet and a few of the cars suffered damage.
