HighDesign - Using Snaps

Learn how to use the snap options in HighDesign. Object snaps in CAD let you accurately pick a point or a border of any object of the drawing: start and end points, mid points and vertices, centers, borders, intersections, etc. Snaps allow the highest precision, speed up the drawing and increase productivity by eliminating errors. ILEXSOFT HighDesign provides 5 types of snap: • Snap to Grid, to pick nodes of the geometric grid; • Snap to Objects: endpoints, vertices, midpoints and borders; • Snap to Intersections: detects intersections between any kind of objects, i.e. line and circle, wall and hatch, etc.; • Snap to Perpendicular/Tangent: automatically detects the perpendicularity of the current segment to the reference object, or the tangent point on a circle or arc; • Snap to Alignments: pick two points to use as datum for arbitrary alignments, perpendicular and parallel alignments, intersections between two alignments, midpoint between two datum points; • Snap to Symbols: apply the snaps to the elements of a symbol for accurate alignment in the drawing. Also, snaps in HighDesign can show the type of snap detected and the basic information about the current object.
