This was a combination of all sorts of things I find about DJing... how the artform developed over decades, the people who changed how we thought about mixing music, the machines that were pressed into creative use, the tricks and techniques to manipulate sound, the communities that nurtured the spaces where they could dance, and of course, the music itself.
