Bruce Springsteen is played by Jeremy Allen White, and agent Jon Landau, played by Jeremy Strong in the new film IDeliver me from Nowhere. Like millions of fans, I'm grateful for being blessed by the company and love of his work. Here's my later-in-life attempt at one Bruce's classic songs "Blood Brothers" recorded on Oct. 10th, 2013. I'm glad I was by the fireplace at the cottage, the perfect setting for this significant day and this incredibly deep song. Here's a quote by Bruce about Blood Brothers .........“I always felt that the friendships, loyalties, and relationships are the bonds that keep you from slipping into the abyss of self-destructiveness. Without those things, that abyss feels a lot closer–like it’s on your heels.” — Bruce Springsteen to Neil Strauss, September 1995. I chose to record Blood Brothers for World Mental Health Day (#WMHD - Oct. 10th every year) as an musical expression of outreach to and for those that are struggling to find a reason to get up, to go on. It's also for those that are grieving someone they've lost, and for the carrying of the burden. And it's for those that are working in their own way to help make a difference. My first album "Before and Afterlife: The Theory of Positivity" was released only a month earlier on Sept. 10th/13 (World Suicide Prevention Day). The album was intended to raise awareness for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (Sept 10th each year). These days have become lost in the fabric of social media distractions with a 7 second attention span, ....or less. Maybe you'll enjoy this offering. I hope you might enjoy Thunder Road (look for my acoustic version on Google). If you like it then you might enjoy my upcoming next album www.LPGroove.ca. I thank the seasoned pros who've contributed to creating some great sounds. Making and listening to music with all of you is the best therapy a human could ask for.
