I took the Olympus EM1 Mark II out with my 14-150mm Lens and captured the day. From the many marching bands to the crowds, my first attempt at a big event photography gig was a success and I got some pretty good shots but missed a fair bit due to my slow shutter speed that I should have kept an eye on. Sitting around 1/250 I assumed it would freeze most moments but there was a slight motion blur on many shots, but in the end the shots that counted came out good. After a while of shooting the marching bands it became a little boring so I turned the camera on the crowd and that is where most the magic was happening. Capturing the eclectic crowd members to the heart warming seniors and their loved ones, I found this style of street photography is probably the easiest you will ever encounter as everyone expects they will be photographed on the day. There where a lot of professionals who had access to the streets and I noticed everyone had either a Sony or Canon camera. So I decided to photograph them as well... Why not... Didn't see any Olympus cameras out there... except mine... Anyway. Hope this wasn't too boring... Its was a great practice for me and one tip I learnt was to stay still and let the crowd come to you.
