About the talk: Kubernetes is the most widely used container orchestrator, but scaling workloads across clusters is not as easy as it sounds. As, the workloads can be diverse, depending on their types, reasons for scaling, sometimes, they might even want custom metrics or events for scaling the resources. This leads to even more complex configuration and therefore what we need is event native compute scaling for any Kubernetes cluster, given the event can be anything. This is where KEDA (Kubernetes-based Event Driven Autoscaling) comes into the picture. KEDA (Kubernetes-based Event Driven Autoscaling) makes it possible to easily scale based on any metrics from almost any metric provider or database and so on. KEDA provides sustainable and cost-efficient applications with scale-to-zero capability. In case, if anyone wants to add a custom scaler, that can also be done with very simple and easy steps as defined in the KEDA docs.
