Follow along as we install it in our restored chassis with urethane transmission mounts and a rear transmission support kit. Then we’ll install the shift rod in the chassis and connect it to the transmission with a Heavy Duty Urethane Shift Coupler. All parts used in this video are available at: http://www.jbugs.com/ Whenever possible we reuse the original parts and hardware. All original hardware was cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner with degreaser then scrubbed and rinsed. All metal hardware was then soaked in vinegar and scrubbed with a wire brush to eliminate any rust, rinsed and then soaked in oil to protect the metal. Large parts were cleaned with degreaser, soaked in vinegar and then when appropriate, painted to protect the finish.
