Today Tristan and I had the chance to volunteer with his old Cub Scout Pack 767 for their annual Pinewood Derby. Events like this are about a lot more than just racing little wooden cars down a track. They are about teaching kids how to build something with their own hands, solve problems, and take pride in creating something themselves. In a world where so much time is spent behind screens, it’s important that kids learn real life skills. Cutting, sanding, designing, testing, and improving. The Pinewood Derby might seem simple, but it teaches creativity, patience, sportsmanship, and the value of hard work. Volunteering at events like this also reminds me how important it is for adults to step up and support the next generation. These kids are learning confidence, teamwork, and the basics of engineering without even realizing it. Tristan had a great time helping out and it meant a lot to go back and support the pack that helped get him started. If you get the chance to volunteer with a youth program in your community, do it. You might be surprised how much of an impact a small amount of time can make. And who knows… you might even help inspire the next builder, mechanic, or engineer. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
