PDP Crisis: Appeal court upholds suspension of Anyanwu, Ajibade, others

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the suspension of several top officials of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP. Those affected include former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organising Secretary Umaru Bature. The appellate court also affirmed an earlier ruling of the Federal High Court delivered by James Omotosho. The judgement upheld the decision of the PDP’s National Working Committee to suspend the officials on November first, twenty twenty-five. The court further maintained an earlier order restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission from recognising the outcome of the party’s 2025 national convention. The ruling is seen as another development in the ongoing internal crisis within the opposition party.
